12 Homemade Christmas Food Gifts
We all want to save money and try and find different ways to do just that. When you make your own gifts not only are you saving money but you get to send that personal side of yourself.
I love this tutorial and I will say up front that there is a few Christmas gift ideas in this list that could be easily changed for another theme just by changing a few ingredients. Have a look I am sure you are going to love it.

4 Tbsp gelatin (that’s about 6 envelopes)
1 cup cold water
1 1/2 cups boiling water
4 cups sugar
1/4 tsp flavored extract like lemon or peppermint
1-2 drops food coloring (I used four colors)
extra sugar for coating
-In a medium saucepan let gelatin soak for about 6minutes in the cold water
-Add the boiling water and stir until the gelatin is dissolved
-Add the sugar and stir
-Bring this mixture to a boil over medium heat for 25 minutes, stir constantly
-Pour mixture into 4 - 3x5 pans
-Add 1/4 tsp of flavored extract and 2 - 3 drops of food coloring to each pan
-Stir each pan until well blended
-Cover the pans and place in the fridge and chill overnight.
-Cut gelatin into cubes using a knife dipped in hot water (to ease the cutting)
- Roll the cubes in sugar and coat all sides
-Place gumdrops on wax paper and leave at room temperature for 48 hours to crystallize
Store in an airtight container.
